Description:

We are excited to have you join us for this in-person, half-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity for Nonprofits Workshop hosted at the Microsoft Zürich Office on 22 May 2024. This workshop will explore the digital transformation of nonprofits, the evolution of AI, and the opportunities and challenges it presents.

More precisely, the first part of the workshop will explore the overarching AI landscape, while providing a concrete overview of current uses of AI in the work of nonprofit organizations. This first section will also showcase the CyberPeace Institute's responsible use of AI, sharing insights from their AI policy development journey. The second part of the workshop will go one step further to explore the relationship between AI and cybersecurity in the context of nonprofit organizations. This part will dissect various AI-related cybersecurity challenges, emphasizing emerging threats like deepfakes and other AI-enabled cyberattacks.

This workshop aims to empower NGOs in effectively navigating the complex realm of AI and cybersecurity, ensuring they are well-prepared to harness the benefits of technology while mitigating associated risks.

The workshop will be delivered by Alexandru Lazar, Program Officer at the CyberPeace Institute.  Alexandru has a background in international relations, research, and cybersecurity. At the Institute, Alexandru focuses on engagement with non-governmental organizations from around the world, facilitating their participation in the CyberPeace Builders program.
